Acronis True Image Home 2010 claims old version of S/W found and requests Reboot

Thread needs solution

I have, over a period of some years, upgraded from True Image 8.0 to True Image 10.0 to True Image Home 11 to True Image Home 2010.

TI Home 2010 was successfully installed on about 2010-06-30 and has been used since then every 14 days.

Tonight, when I try and run it I get a message saying "Old version of software found - you need to re-boot"

When I reboot, I get same message (and again and again and again ...). I have tried repair (that didn't work). System is Dell Optiplex 745 downgraded to Windows XP Professional. I have not applied any Microsoft patches since last successful use on October 14, 2010. I have tried re-installation (repair) but that makes no difference.

I am also using Acronis Drive Monitor V1.0 and also Acronis Disk Director Home 11 (which was installed after my last back up).

Is TI Home 2010 picking up the installation of Disk Director 11 and identifying it as "old version of SW"?

Very frustrating - any suggestions anyone?

Thanks Mr. MudCrab - that solved the problem (and without having to delve into the registry either!)

Respect!
