Acronis True Image Home 2010 unable to restore on Dell $6410
I am running out of option and the technical support does not seem to be knowledgeable enough.
My brand new Dell e6410 crashed (as it can happen).
Fortunately I had backed up everything with Acronis. (whole disk image).
Unfortunately, Acronis is unable to restore the image back.
It simply ends with "restore operation failed".
I have been given 3 different ISO images to burn to CD and run by tech support, to no avail.
Tech support is no longer responding to my emails.
What next?
Dell E6410 =>win 7 32
Acronis True Image Home 10

Has there been a solution to the OP's issue? I too have a Dell E6410, Windows 7 32 bit. I have been making system partition images with True Image Home 2010.
Now, I have a need to restore my system partition from one of the backup images. I haven't done so yet; Mr. Gagneux's problem stopped me cold.
Does TIH 2010 restore drive images okay on the Dell E6410?

Hello Radiphile,
Thank you for your post. I will definitely assist you.
I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience, at the moment the fix has not been included in the program because we are still investigating the cause of the issue. However, we have a "custom" version which I will be more than happy to provide you with.
In a few minutes I will send you a private message with a download link.
If you have additional questions, please let me know.
Thank you.

Thank you Anton. I have downloaded the iso. I will burn it to a CD and try it this weekend.

I decided to try it today instead of waiting. It doesn't work.
When I boot from the CD and get to the first screen, the one that gives a choice of loading Acronis or booting Windows, neither my laptop's keyboard nor pointing device functions. So I can proceed no further.
I tried booting from the CD with the laptop connected to the docking station, which has an external keyboard and mouse connected. This time, I was able to move the mouse cursor around for about one second. After that, no response to mouse or keyboard. The program appeared to have locked up.

I decided to try another approach to getting my laptop system image restored to my system partition. I
- temporarily installed ATIH 2010 on another PC
- copied the image file to that PC
- removed the HDD from the laptop
- connected it to the other PC via an external USB adapter
- ran ATIH 2010 on the other PC and restored the system image from the image file to the laptop HDD's system partition
I had to fix boot.ini and bootmgr (using Windows Repair from a Windows 7 install DVD), but I was successful, and now I'm done. This was a cumbersome procedure so I hope Acronis one day fixes the issue with this laptop.

Any news on this Anton, I have simliar trouble with E6410, the Acronis CD won't boot, machine just restarts and I can't load the image, help I am unable to deploy images to these machines at all.
***Note, some e6410's we have had have worked, and I tried transferring the hdd form one that didn't work to another that did and it still didn't work, which suggests to me that it is tied to hdd type....***

Hello Radiophile and Ben,
Thank you for your messages.
Radiophile, I am glad that you were able to find a temporary workaround. Thank you for sharing this information with our forum community.
Ben, I will do my best to assist you.
There is no fix yet, but I can offer you a workaround. We have a "custom" bootable CD that has this issue resolved. I would really appreciate if you could register your Acronis software or send me a private message with the serial number so that I can send you a download link for the boot CD. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.
