Acronis true image home and auto clean up

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis set up for scheduled back ups. If I perform an unscheduled back up is Acronis supposed to follow my auto clean up rule that I have set up or does it perform an instant back up with out following my auto clean up rules. I have set up Acronis to delete any back ups that are more than 14 days old, but up to this point I have yet to see Acronis clean out any of my back ups. I end up having to delete them my self in order to reclaim some space on my hard drive. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

Jonathan,

Just to make sure: do not delete backups manually.

At this point, I recommend you validate your backup, starting from the latest one. If it fails, work you way back to the most recent one that works.

One this is done, copy (not move) the TIB files that validate to another directory.

From ATI, delete (not remove) your backup. This will remove your backup settings, schedule and archive files.

Delete manually any remaining TIB files.

Recreate your backup.

When you set up the auto cleaning options, make sure that the backup scheme tab is the one active before you close the backup options window. Otherwise, the auto cleaning option are lost (a known bug).
