acronis true image ist not installed

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I am new here and quite angry: ist seems to be extremely difficult to get help from acronis! Running win 7-64 ult german I am trying to install home version 2010 german purchased this october. Acronis login site asked for code and regsitring, and responded success and asked to downlaod the update dated nov7. I followed the instructions. Trying to open it, I receive the message "Acronis home 2010 is not installed". But the files are on disk and the control panel unter "programs" shows "acronis true image home" as installed. Question: What can I do?

Hello Hans,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

Have you rebooted the computer after the installation? If not, please do it and see if the issue remains. The installation requires a reboot to complete the changes. If the issue still persists, please remove the program by means of Programs and features utility and reboot the computer, download the file after logging in to your account  (you can learn more on how to download the latest build here) and save it to your desktop. Install the program from the scratch. The issue should be resolved.

Hi,

I have the same problem. Since installing Build 6029 I now get a message saying "Acronis True Image is not installed". I have tried un-installing the program but I can't even do that. The un-installer starts and says it is removing the program but then it disappears and the program is still installed.

Please can anyone help??

Thanks

Same as MAtthew here ... it seems that MAtthew got no answer at all since his message was posted in 2010 !

I just purchased True Image and am experiancing the "True Image Not Installed" box when running it from the desktop icon. I have restarted, uninstalled, reinstalled, and still get the same error. I am running a Vista Home basic OS. I attempted to contact Live Chat and never got a response after waiting for more than 20 minutes. I would like to have some ability to get an answer to this problem. I needed it this weekend to resolve a problem and was surprised after purchasing it to have this level of problem with the product and support.

Mark,

What version of True Image are you installing.

Is your Vista OS at SP2?

Using Win 7 Pro SP2, after installing the new downloaded build for Acronis 2014 and trying to run the program I receive the error box "True Image Not Installed" and program will not load. No amount of uninstall / reinstall or rebooting changes that outcome. Prior to the Acronis 2014 install I had a free Acronis version 2015 True Image HD installed from PNY I used to clone an SSD drive. Of course I uninstalled that before trying the install of the full, licensed version of Acronis True Image 2014.

I see many others have had this problem, but nowhere is found any solution.

Have you tried installig with the cleanup tool as well?  I'd suggest following these exact instructions and then try re-installing again. The reboots and right-click and  "run as administrator" are key throughout the process, in addition to the cleanup tool doing its thing.  Make sure you check for those leftover folders before installing as well - just to be sure.  It's all laid out here:

Thanks very much --- your response was on the money -- I followed it to the letter and I was able to install a working version of Acronis 2014. Thank you again and have a great holiday season!

Glad to hear it Paul.  Happy Holidays to you too.
