Acronis TrueImage Home 10 does not see Toshiba laptop's internal hdd
I am facing a bizarre issue with my backup attempts using Acronis 10. During the backup, the software has no problem detecting an external USB backup drive, but fails to find the internal hdd that I intend to back up!
I tried the latest version from the download section, to no avail.
This seems like a major problem and it completely prevents me from using the product. Please help.
Thank you very much!

Hello Bob,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will do my best to help you with this issue.
Since Acronis True Image 10 Home is no longer developed we will not be able to work on this much.
I will recommend some known fixes and suggestions.
1. Are you using the latest build of the software which is 4942? You can check it from the main program windows by pressing Help->About.
2. Is this a Windows backup or bootable media?
3. Please try downloading the latest version of the bootable media from your Acronis web-account.
4. You can upgrade to Acronis True Image 2011 Home for half the price.
5. Before purchasing, you can download a trial version which will for 30 days and you can test it properly.
6. You can check the following additional resources:
- Acronis Product Does Not Detect Hard Disks in Windows
- Acronis Bootable Media Does Not Detect HDD, RAID or NIC
Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions, please let me know.
Thank you.

Bob,
You are referring to the old version 10 (2008 vintage)? Some people confuse things by referring to the 2010 version as the version 10. The response by support above would differ if you are using the 2010 version.
If you are really using verson 10, have you used it successful before on this laptop?
