Acronis TrueImage Home 2011 suddenly not starting
Acronis TrueImage Home 2011
My operating system: windows 7 Professional x32 Laptop: Dell Latitude E5410
I've been creating disk images on a WD Passport drive which I detach from the computer much of the time (since the passport is exclusively for disk image backups) Today when I plugged in the WD Passport, True Image Home 2011 wouldn't open. I rebooted to see if that would make a difference but it didn't. . It gets far enough to ask: Do you want the following program to make a change? to which I respond: yes. And then nothing happens.
After trying to start, task manager showed 2 TrueImageMonitor.exe processes .. one with 4,788K and the other with 928K. I killed them both and then tried again.. same as before altho now no rueImageMonitor.exe is on the process
Does anyone know, do I have to re-install?
My event log shows:

Thank you very much.. I used the download link on the My Products and Downloads page to download and then run the install. (I never saw the "repair installation" option, it just said the install was completed) .. I had to wait a bit for schedhlp to stop running in the background so that I could reboot, but once I did, I can now run True Image Home again. That's a relief.
I really wish I could try a recovery to be sure it would be successful but I worry that I may not have sufficient skills (eg special extra stuff I need to do because I'm running Windows 7). Also worry about the need to recover onto a different machine should this one be stolen (while traveling) ; in that eventuality, do I "simply" purchase Plus to do the job?

Pat,
Until you have actually tested the restore, you really do not know whether everything will work as expected. Get yourself another hard drive and do your testing. Yes, the Plus Pack is designed (and will be needed) for use when restoring to different hardware but using it is by no means "a piece of cake" as the ol' saying goes.

Also, you probably want to run a chkdisk on your drive as bad sectors could be the reason your installation become corupted. there are other causes but that's one worth checking and easy to do.
