Acronis Western Digital Edition question

Thread needs solution

I currently own the Acronis Western Digital Edition, and I had a few questions. I'm pretty sure it's just a trial edition. Anyways, I bought the upgrade of Acronis True Image 2010 on Acronis' site for I think it was around $30, and when I go to install it, it's asking me for an old serial number. When I installed the Western Digital edition, it didn't ask me for a serial number since Western Digital was basically giving me a link to the program on their site.

Not sure if I screwed up here, but somewhere on Acronis' site, they had some deal where you could upgrade the Western Digital edition to a full product for $30 or something like that. I forget how it went. Anyways, could someone tell me how this thing is supposed to work? because I entered the first serial number which was valid, now it's asking me for another one. I hope I didn't spend $30 on the wrong product.

Hello Jeffrey,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

In order to solve the issue please download the latest build of Acronis WD Edition using the following web page Then install Acronis True Image Home 2010 Upgrade. This time the program should ask only for the upgrade serial number.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Dmitry:

I too, upgraded from Acronis WD edition. Except, I upgraded to Acronis True Image Home 2011, version 5105, then to 5519 without any issues. However, when I tried to upgrade to 6574, it began to ask me for a second "original" serial number. In order to upgrade to 6574, I had to uninstall 5519, then install Acronis WD edition, then install 6574. This time, it did not prompt for second "original" serial number.

How can I avoid having to reinstall Acronis WD edition when I get new versions of Acronis True Image Home 2011 in the future?

Thanks in advance for any information,
Paul
