Activate Trial version or downloaded full version??

Thread needs solution

Satisfied with the trial version of TI Home 2010 I have just bought a license key. How do I proceed?

In my confirmation e-mail I have been offered a new download (different file name from the trial version) plus an serial number. In the Self Service under Licensing guide it says that I should uninstall the trial version and install the new download, but in my installed trial version it gives me the option to Activate and enter the serial number. So which way do I go? And if I have to uninstall, what is the best way?
This seems like an obvious question, but I just can't find the answer anywhere on this site!
Thanks in advance for your help.

The best way to uninstall/install ATI is by using msconfig to disable all startup services except windows servcies and all startup progrs, reboot uninstall/install, then reboot, then run msconfig and set to normal startup. I've found that 90% of my installation issues go away if I follow this process and the few minutes extra it takes is way less than botched unistalls/installs.

Thx for the info. I will uninstall the trial version then and install the newly downloaded version. Though if this is the best way to do it, I don't understand why Acronis doesn't remove the option from the trial version to activate that version.

Scott is correct. In addition to what he said about the msconfig services and startup group, you should also disable antivirus and firewall software as msconfig may not shut those down. Installing the license in the trial version might work for many but following the advice given provides a better chance for success.

As far as I know, starting with TI 2009, the trial version and the "downloadable" version are exactly the same. This is what caused the problems with TI 2009 reverting to trial mode and Acronis having to replace a lot of keys. Personally, I liked it better as two separate programs because it meant the full version didn't have the trial code in it and things like what happened wouldn't happen.

I supposed Acronis was trying to make it easier to convert from the trial to the full version. Before TI 2009, the trial version had to be uninstalled because you couldn't unlock it. (People fussed about that too.)

i have Acronis Disk Director Server Demo when i begin to create a new partition i see the message says that:This is Demo version of the Acronis Disk Director. Using the demonstration version you can create partitions of minimal size only.
I ask how can i get a full version.

Go to the Acronis website and buy it.

Hello all,

BENOIT MUNYEMANA, DwnNDrty is right. If you want a full version of Acronis Disk Director Suite please visit our online store to purchase it. The full version doesn't have any limitations on operations.

Thank you.

Also I would recommend you create bootable media if you have problems with windows as you can always use that without any issues.
