Add Addtional Files to True Image ISO
The Media Builder included in Acronis True Image 11 does not appear to be capable of adding additional files to the ISO image it builds. It is a waste of space to burn a 70 MB ISO image to a 700 MB CD or 4.3 GB DVD.
Is there some way to add additional files to the ISO images created by the Media Builder? After considerable anguish I did manage to track down a free Win32 build of ISO Master, but attempting to add even a small file to the ISO and then saving results in an image 50 MB smaller than the original ISO image. Other attempts to extract the files and reconstruct the ISO using some other tool have likewise failed.
Perhaps there is some folder I can place somewhere that the Media Builder will automatically include in its ISO construction?

Yes, it can be accomplished but it's not a free program. I use UltraISO to add additional files to an ISO file. Attached is an image showing the files on my completed CD. This is the bootable Rescue Media CD for restoring an image plus the added files provide for long-term storage of the installation files etc.

I also use UltraISO for adding files to a CD. But I haven't added anything to the boot CD - I don't mind the wasted space, after all a cd is 15 cents or less.
What you could do is to have your basic saved Backup Image as part of the bootable *DVD* and this you have to do when making that Image. But if that Image is going to span more than 3 DVD discs and you ever have to restore from it, it is going to involve a lot of swapping of the same discs over and over. With 3 discs there is still some repeat swapping but it is not too frustrating.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, though it seems like quite a bit of work.

You're right, it doesn't seem to have the same problem I observed in ISO Master. But I'm not about to shell out $30 for that, and the unregistered version isn't particularly useful.

It's not so much the price that bothers me as much as having more discs than necessary kicking around.

I don't understand.

I have wasted a truly frustrating evening trying to get BartPE to cooperate. The downloadable Acronis TI plugin works fine, but even following the instructions for DiskDirector results in a disc where *nothing* happens when I try to run DiskDirector. (I'm using VMware to test this, of course.)
Surely there is some other way to include files on the bootable media?
