All buttons greyed out, only see

I don't get it, somehow when starting Acronis 2014 I see the "get started" as usual, but all of the other buttons are greyed out.

So I restarted the PC and also did a re-install of acronis, but that doesn't help. The buttons stay greyed out. So I just downloaded a trial of Acronis 2015, and that just works like it should.

Then I tried to contact support, but I can't even ask for support since I've to buy a support license for that....! Man, I am a proud user / owner of Acronis 2010. I did an upgrade to 2014 since 2010 doesn't work with windows 8 anymore, but acronis 2014 only gives me troubles....

- resizing larger to smaller partitions failed to work (for moving from hdd to sdd). I fixed this using my old 2010 on an older machine with win7.
- now the entire 2014 doesn't even work. But 2015 does.. what the # happened?
