Anyone backing up to a Idealstor Teralyte ?

Thread needs solution

I'm thinking about upgrading from LTO2 tape to the Teralyte 2000-TLYTE-2RSA.  Is anyone else using this device?  I haven't found any forum or any good reviews online.  I was also considering RDX but we would out grow 500gb drives too quickly and would have to purchase all new drives once the company finally releases larger sizes.  With the teralyte I can use any 3.5" sata drive on the market it sounds like.

I was considering switching from backup exec 11d to acronis at the same.  Has anyone used the Teralyte with Acronis?

Hello Kurt,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

There is no support list for tape drives. Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 supports tape libraries, autoloaders, SCSI and USB tape drives as storage devices. A tape device can be locally attached to a managed machine (in this case, the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Agent writes and reads the tapes) or accessed through the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Storage Node. Storage Nodes ensure fully automatic operation of tape libraries and autoloaders.

Backup archives created using different ways of access to tape have different formats. A tape written by Storage Node can be read by Acronis Agent only by accessing corresponding Storage Node (i.e. via Centralized storage).

Linux-based and PE-based bootable media allow for backup and recovery using both local access and access through Storage Node. Backups created using the bootable media can be recovered with the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Agent running in the operating system.
