Archive-Password for planned tasks

Thread needs solution

Hi,

if I create for example a weekly task to backup my system partition, and I give the archive a password, it can't be opened by somebody else without knowing the password, everything clear so far. However, the password must obviously be saved (somewhere in the True Image program). I would like to know whether it is saved in plain text (or similar), or is it just stored as some kind of hash?
In other words, if somebody would have full access to my computer, is it somehow possible for him to "extract" the password that is used for the planned tasks from the program, so he could then open the archives?

Hello Michael,

Let me address the query and clarify the situation for you.

Generally, the password is not stored as the plain text at all. Password protection for our archives is similar for usual .zip archive password protection - it stores the password as the encrypted hash. If you forgot the password, there would be no way to restore it from file. The same is for total access for your computer - no one can restore the file without a password.

We have never faced the situation with some password hacks, so please do not worry, your information will be stored safely.
