ATI 2010 GUI is very, very slow - I'm not happy with the new version
Hello,
since several years I'm using TrueImage and I can say I'm a satisfied user!
Now have upgraded to ATI 2010 and I cannot use the software, because it is to slow.
It isn't the slow imaging, it is the GUI, that is very slow. Sometimes it lasts several minutes to open a menu!
I've de-installed ATI 2010 and re-installed the 2009-version, that works fine.
I also tested ATI 2010 on my notebook, same problem.
I'm using Windows XP prof.
Can someone help me to be a satisfied user again?
Hartmut

The recovery disk is even slower..mentions backups in the recover section but fails to find them. The browse for backup takes like 10 minutes before the silly window even opens to browse for a sillt image on the same comp located on a drive less than an inch away. I recon it's searching all the far regions of the earth and moon first aye...

I just evaluated B&R 2010 and thought the GUI was extremely slow as well. I have True image echo another pc and it works fine. I also couldn't stand the new gui. I will just keep the echo product for now. I'm backing up my server with shadowprotect. That software doesn't have all the bells and whistles of acronis but the GUI is a breath of fresh air, so easy to use. I will keep the echo product on my workstation for other HD tasks.

All ATI 2010 UI operations slow
I am seeing very slow UI performance across the board. Once it must have taken 15 seconds to move the cursor one space when editing an archive file name. At every "Next" step in the scheduler my hard drive gets battered while I wait for the screen to update. This is really unsatisfactory performance that should be addressed immediately.

I just installed ATI 2010 on my Windows XP Prof. SP3 computer and now I am experiencing the extremely slow GUI as well. My other license of ATI 2010 on a 64bit Vista Home Premium works very well so I decided to get it for my wife/son's computer as well.
Has anybody found out about the reason for the slow gui?
My WinXP has all the windows updates installed and all drivers are up to date versions...
Hey Acronis, can anybody investigate this issue?

I'm expeirencing the same awful performance with the 2010 version on my XP SP3 machine. Does some Acronis official rep is going to address this issue? Did anyone get any workaround for this?

Hello all,
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and for the difficulties you've experienced.
I'll surely help you with the issues with slow GUI performance, but first I need an additional information from your side to find out what exactly caused the problem.
Could you please collect AcronisInfo output as described at this KB article and attach it to your reply? I'll examine the configuration of your PCs and shall propose you the most probable reasons of the issue.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.

So what's the answer to this ongoing slow GUI problem? If it isn't resolved quickly I, for one, am off to other products.

I failed gathering the information (the zip file failed to be created). I ran the AcronisInfo.exe utility under a cmd window so that I can capture the error messages. Here they are:
C:\Documents and Settings\Tsvika\שולחן העבודה>AcronisInfo.exe
Running with default parameters!
Failed to execute action (-no_acrolog).
Unable to get list of groups.
Progress check 0 partition 100%

Seems like I overlooked the file that was actually created and it is hereby attached.
Actually, a few minutes after uploading the file, I figured out it contains information that I'm not necessarily interested sharing with the whole world. I therefore took it off. Please let me know how to directly send it to Acronis support...
Thanks,
Tsvika

I am running 64-bit Windows 7, and have the same slow GUI problem with TI Home 2010. I have found that if I remove the Acronis partition (FAT32) and then add it back to my system, then the GUI delay is absent. As I add backups to the Acronis partition, the delay begans to appear, and when I have about 10 backups stored in the Acronis partition, the GUI is painfully slow. I have also found that the current build's (6053) GUI delay is worse than build 6029, so I have reinstalled build 6029. It is interesting that TI Home 2009 did not have that problem when I was using it with 64-bit Vista Ultimate.

If you PM one of the Acronis Moderators they will be able to give you instructions depending upon the size of the file.

Find an Acronis person, there is one in this thread, then click on the SEND PM icon under their user name.

Hello Zvi Lazar,
Please just pick up Windows System Information file and submit a support request.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.

I was able to pick up the Windows System Information, but couldn't find how to submit a support request (following the above mentioned link). I therefore tried to attach the file "here", but then figured out it's too public. How do you suggest I send the file in a more private manner?
Thanks,
Zvi Lazar
