ATI 2012 Update 2 - backup fails causes a blue screen
After updating to the Update #2 without any issues I have not been able to backup multiple partitions to either of my backup drives (i.e. network drive or local external drive). The backup gets to 50+% and then it appears to hang (i.e. system time, etc. do no update). Then the blue screen happens. I have tried several times without success. This is very frustrating since I need to make a good backup prior to upgrading my system to new hardware.

A slight update in that I was able to finally get the direct attached backup to work. I had to close out everything to ensure nothing was going to hang it up.
Pat L. - Interesting though about going to a prior state and services. I will have to try that out. I have not seen any updates that have been installed that could be conflicting but I have a ton of services that start-up at boot. I will let you know how it goes.

Darryl,
The think about clean boot environment, uninstall/reinstalling is to assess whether ATI can install properly on "clean" windows, before 3rd party services and apps are started (eg security stuff). If it fails in clean boot environment, you have a Windows/registry issue that only Acronis support can sort out for you. If it succeeds in clean boot, you can then systematically identify where the conflict is and make a call.
If the backup hands always at the same spot, it could be a disk issue. Run chkdsk /r on the partition that you are backing up. If this is a file backup, it could a file access/VSS issue (which itself could be caused by third party software conflict). If it is a file backup, you can narrow down the culprit file/folder by changin the content selection.
