ATI 2013 and usb 3

Thread needs solution

Is there a trick to getting ATI 2013 to see my USB 3 drive ?? my 2011 seen the controller/drives no problem, 2013 is a nescessary update so reverting to 2011 is not an option.

Any help with enabling this driver or doing whatever I have to do to make the bootable Rescue cd/dvd see the usb3 drives would be greatly appreciated.

We have seen cases where hardware compatibility of the recovery CD went seemingly backwards with new versions.

If 2013 doesn't see your disks, I am afraid that your only option is to upgrade to the Plus Pack and create a WinPE-based disk.

I purchased the 2013 with the upgrade to the Plus Pack, and I created the disk and booted as per your instructions, now it comes up with SNAPMAN.SYS error then says "press any key to reboot" what now ?

Did you create a WinPE-based disk?

Does the SNAPMAN.SYS error show up when you boot on the WinPE-disk?

Steve,

You are the second poster today with a snapman.sys error. I am wondering what is going on. There is no new update that I have seen yet.

Is there something common that would explain it in your configuration? USB 3.0 ?

Yes I created the WinPE Disk and when I boot off the WinPE Disk it says that SNAPMAN.SYS failed to load and the system halts, the only option I am given is to hit enter to reboot.

I have recreated the ISO of the WinPE 4 times to see if the iso0 or disk where bad, but it happens everytime.

I am using the NEC usb3 chipset/Card, with the Reneas drivers, the drivers worked perfect with the ATI 2011, but with the new features in 2013 I need to use I cant revert back to 2011, the 2013 works fine with usb2, but as you know it takes 4+ times longer if not more to restore an image..

Steve,

Are you positive you created a x86 image for the WinPE-based disk, even if your computer is x64? Some users get confused with that.

Sorry I didnt see anywhere that allowed me the option to chose between x86 and x64, where do I look for that ?

MustangPEBuilder is a major improvement in the ease of creating a WinPE based recovery CD for True Image Home. I use it and recommend its use.
MustangPEBuilder 2.0 is now provided for free and available in two versions. The first is for use with Microsoft's Automated Installation Kit (WAIK). The second is for use with Microsoft's Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK).
