ATI Echo Workstation Build 8398 still broken!

Hello,

I'm a very experienced user of this software for both local and remote network installations for our company and customers which we sell this product to. Since build 8206, there are a few issues with this product which I reported through live chat and these bugs still keep making it through all released builds. I didn't expect to see a new build posted because of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 and chat stating this is no longer supported. This is very troubling for Acronis since they have been known to produce decent products in the past.

Here are the issues:

1) Rescue media freezes at the screen where you select your archive location for a disk backup or restore. This happens for any USB flash drive (not USB external drives) connected to a USB port. This works perfectly fine in build 8206 and prior. The flash drive we use is 2G in size since our images are quite small in our industrial PC. In build 8206, this drive is recognized as removable media drive A:. In builds 8353 and later, this is recognized as drive E:. If I select the internal drives or a USB external drive, no issues. I also tried all the command line fixes mentioned in both old and new forums, and this still goes unresolved. This is the same hardware I have been using since build 8163 and have tried it on multiple same hardware setups and different computers with the exact same result every time. Broken after build 8206.

2) Using the Management Console for a recovery operation, the reboot button will only reboot the remote computer if no applications are running. Build 8163 could do this. To get around this, I have to run a pre command to shutdown any running processes.

3) Fix the spelling errors and bad translations in the form for the restore step where you configure NT Management signature in both the windows installation and the rescue media. This was introduced in build 8353.

4) The bootable rescue media in the iso file in the Acronis account is still build 8353 since build 8398 was released.

5) Fix the downgrade option in the Acronis account where you want to downgrade Acronis B&R 10 AW license keys to Acronis True Image Echo Workstation. This is missing and does not work per your kb article 3175. It shouldn't take Oleg Lee in the B&R10 forum to get me this while nothing gets done with my case number. I'm not interested in AB&R 10 now and may never be.

For any users of this product, do not use any build after 8206. There are just too many major problems. The replacement Acronis B&R 10 is another whole story. Acronis get your act together. Its not fun installing your broken products and then have to keep reinstalling the old builds to make this work. This is quite disappointing since you even had my hardware for testing in Burlington, MA. You need to get your software engineers out of the office and visit some customers to see the true problems because your support in India is not working. As a company, we'd be out of business using your model.

Support was much better when I dealt with the sales folks out of Burlington, MA. I was even able to report bugs directly which were confirmed and fixed in the next release (build 8206). After this, everything went down hill and Acronis sales doesn't seem to care anymore. For a company fit to order 2000 licenses/year, we must now re-evaluate our future with you.
