ATI home 2010 bld 6053 from bootable USB: module 'at' not found && incorrect 'trial version' advice

Thread needs solution

I've build a bootable USB flash for ATI home 2010 build 6053 using syslinux as described on http://kb.acronis.com/sites/default/files/content/2006/3/1526/flash-sys…

Holding down F12 at startup allows the USBflash to be selected from the Boot Device List & it boots OK to ATI OK, but there are two issues
1. During bootup it fails to find module 'at'
Scrn msg is "cannot find module 'at'. no such file or directory"
This doesn't look good.

2. Erasing a partition was disabled ... the system indicated it was a Trial Version; although I initially downloaded a Trial Version, I have since bought and registered this installation, so this is no longer the case. (Viewing 'About ATI' within the USBflash-booted application does not indicate my lic key, but viewing it 'About ATI' when normally-booted DOES indicate my lic key.)

I'd appreciate input
- why is module 'at' not being found? How to correct this?
- how to get the USBflash-booted ATI to reflect the registered status my normal boot version has?
