ATI Home 2012 - Unable to create volume snapshot (0x70021)

Thread needs solution

I just repurposed an older Gateway 510x Pentium 4 computer with 2.5GB RAM running under Windows XP SP3 and installed build 7133 of ATI Home 2012, intending to use one of my unused ATIH 2012 licenses I purchased last year.

After configuring other software on the computer, when I attempted to make an initial backup, the process failed with the following error message:

Operation with partition '2-0' was terminated.
Details:
Unable to create volume snapshot (0x70021)

Failed to set snapshot bitmap. (0x10C44E)

There was also a reference to the following KB article:

More information about this error and solutions may be available online in the Acronis Knowledge Base. To access the online resource manually, enter the event code at: http://kb.acronis.com/errorcode/
Event code: 0x000101F6+0x00070021+0x0010C44E+0x00000009

The KB reference discusses low system resources, but the Gateway has 2.5GB of RAM and not much else was running at the time.

Does anyone have any guidance for installing Acronis on this computer and getting it to make reliable backups? I am using licensed copies of ATI 2009, 2010, and 2012 successfully on other computers in the house and wonder what might be the problem with this installation.

Thanks.

I have used this software successfully to back up my system for years. Now I can backup data files alone but cannot back up full system. The process begins normally then after a few minutes stops and gives a "Backup Failed" message. I have re-installed Acronis with same result. Computer is Windows 7; Product is Acronis True Image Home 2010 (build 6.053). Anybody have any idea what's going on?
