ATI2009 home: archive validation asks for volume 2

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I made schedules backups of my C system partition, one full, the other incremental.
So, I have the files disk-C.tib, disk-c2.tib, disk C24.tib.

Now, I want to validate one of the incremental archives. So I select it and makes it being validated.

At almost half of the task, ATI asks for a "selection of volume 2". Whatever is my answer, it seems not Ok and finally I cancel the operation that fails. So, what is going wroing here and what is exactly this "volume 2"?

Another problem: if you consolidate the archive, it asks also for a "volume 2" and you cannot cancel the operation if you do not find the archive: the program must be killed by the windoiws program manager...

What is wrong in my data. So, I cannot restore my archive from a previous date, this is incredible!.

Thanks for any help.

Patrice.

Have you deleted or changed the task or schedule at any point?

It is asking for 'volume 2' (whatever that is) because you seem to be missing an image, or the consolidation hasn't quite worked properly.

With the disk names you've published, images 'disk-c2....(1 to 3') seem to be missing.

I have had something similar happen when I've run out of disk space and moved an old archive, TI then became confused and ran the wrong task against the wrong image and I had similar results. Only a new full solved the problem.

Don't open the task for editing at this moment as it might cause TI to change the path and name of the image file back to your 'C' drive. That is a known annoyance.

Are you able to validate the other files?

Hello all ,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

Patrice,

It looks like one of the backup archives in the chain is corrupted. Could you please validate the archives one-by-one in order to find the corrupted file? You can start the verification from the latest backup file in the chain.

Thank you.
