ATI2015 Update 6525 issues............

Thread needs solution

I just sent ATI Service Team the following message:

I have just installed latest update of ATI version 6525 - I thought you might like to see what I have found so far:

1] In Help, About Acronis True Image, there is no software version shown. Also no full download from My Account.

2] Creating Acronis Bootable Media on a CD looks good progress at first but it never finalises so I have to go Ctrl / Alt / Del to end non responsive programme.

3] The bootable CD sits at Loading Acronis for some time (much much longer than normal) and eventually gets to the choices screen - but of course there is no difference in the old problem of finding my USB3 drives. (Seen some more topics on this subject. Grover seems to know that it's simply a missing USB3 driver).

4] The only good thing is that it continues to perform the incremental backup task OK apparently.

Personally I think that this update should be pulled.

Downloaded bootable rescue media from My Account and burnt ISO on to a CD successfully so it looks like the ISO burner in Update 6525 is NBG.

It still took over 20 minutes (could have been longer) in which time I had fallen asleep waiting and woken by CD drawer opening. It's useless software version 6055 not 6525. Even my previously burnt CD from Update 6055 done in October includes DD12-3223 which this one doesn't.

I have already raised this issue with Acronis Service. Don't think that there is an absence of a USB3 driver because there is one there which works my USB3 bound laptop and sees the external USB3 HDD. I have been advised that Acronis Development Team are working on a fix.............it certainly isn't on this one.

So long as the rest of the software I use works and can be booted from 2015-5539 boot USB I will continue otherwise I might as well go back to 2015-5539. Luckily I have a full download of both 2015-5539 and 2015-6055. I used to think upgrades were for the better not the worse.

I should add that in My Account where my registered version of 2015 resides, there are no links to previous issues so as I said it is a good job I downloaded them when they were available. Why aren't they now? Previously there was no link to download of the bootable media and now there is.

All my older softwares have download links to older versions (not that they are of much use now).

2015-6525 really is no good for me and I have gone back to 2015-6055.

6525 does not confirm that Validation is OK, nor that a Backup has successfully completed. Uninstalling is not without known Acronis issues. The ATI cleanup tool definitely needs to be completed otherwise there is no connection to the HDD - also in DD12 when 6055 is installed. Both get cleaned out anyway and you start installing them again.

Now even with Automatically Check For Updates at Startup unchecked it still keeps annoyingly notifying there is a new unwanted version available. How do I stop this?

Another alarming problem was with my Outlook announcing something about it not being registered, but it seems to have settled down I hope.

Another minor problem which has been around since year AD is the corruption of the Acronis icons in All Programs and Start Menu. Fiddling around first with the one for TI - Change Icon and browse for another in Programme Files makes a fix followed by reaffirming the one in DD12.

Got to keep banging away - another message to Acronis Service Team:

Further to my e'mail 28 November 2014. Per my Post 74534 in the ATI 2015 User Forums, I have gone back to version 6055 as 6525 definitely is no good as explained there. So I await not only a fix for the bootable media but the software in general. It simply has gone from bad to worse.

Hello,

6525 does not confirm that Validation is OK,

In Help, About Acronis True Image, there is no software version shown.

See the second change above: "The Account ..."

Thanks Sybex - as per detail below there really isn't any link to older versions.

Hi,

Using a troubleshooting support on USB key, disk used as a backup drive:
- HGST Touro Mobile PRO 1TB - HTO1MPEA10001BBB USB 3.0
is not recognized with ATI 2015 6225 fr_FR
whereas it is readily acknowledged with:
- ATI 2015 5539 fr_FR
- ATI 2014 6674 fr_FR
Regards.

Thanks to Ekalb. I have restored back to 6525 on both my PC's from backups previously performed. I can now see the version number in Account which I was sure was not there before, and I can click the green tick and the status banner appears - not really as good as the way it operated before. It would have been better if it automatically appeared without clicking.

Here is a response from Acronis Team:

Hello,

Thank you for your messages. Based on the diagnostic information you have sent us, True Image developers will implement the fix for external USB drive detection in one of the next updates. For now you can keep using bootable medias I sent you previously for recovery purposes or use WinPE-based media. As I understand, WinPE media boots successfully on your computer and detects discs correctly.

True Image build number has been moved from "About True Image" screen to Account tab.

You can always revert to the build 6055 (http://dl2.acronis.com/s/AcronisTrueImage2015_6055_en-EU.exe, http://dl2.acronis.com/s/AcronisTrueImage2015_addons_6055_en-EU.exe) and disable automatic notifications for new versions at "About True Image" screen. There will be no quick hotfix or an update that would correct the performance issue and media creation issue anytime soon.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I've posted a new thread on build 6525 that backups made with this version fail during recovery with index corrupted errors, making any backups with this build useless!

In process of trying to go back to build 6055, or even back to ATI 2014.

Ready to start looking at some else's imaging software....
