ATIH 2011 fails to backup to NAS using different credentials

Thread needs solution

I had this working with ATIH 2009 and previous, but when I upgraded to ATIH 2011, I had problems getting backups to a NAS to work when using a different ID.

I run backups under one ID, but I have multiple machines backing up to my NAS and I want all the backups stored there under a common ID.

In the past, I've used the ftp backup method (except for an older Acronis 11, which mounts the share). If I try to create a new backup location for ATIH 2011 using ftp, I get a failure trying to create the directory.

I tried creating a different ftp connection by IP address in case there was something in the upgrade that failed, but that didn't work.

I tried to delete an FTP connection to recreate it, but there's no way to delete an FTP connection.

I tried using pre/post commands to net use: (with /user:newid ) the backup share instead of ftp, but I got file rename failures.

The only thing I have working so far is backing up without changing the id used to store the backup on the NAS.

Jim,

If you are using Vista or Windows 7 delete your credentials in credential manager. Start TI connect to the NAS log on, from then on all should be fine.
