ATIH 2011 - Scheduled Backups Not Running

Thread needs solution

It appears that my scheduled backups are not running throughout the week at their scheduled times. I have several different backups scheduled to run throughout the week, usually after midnight when the computer is most likely to be idle. My computer is configured to be always powered on but to turn off the display after 10 minutes of inactivity.

This has caught my attention because recently it seems that my backups will occur anytime my computer is actually IN USE. For example, I have a backup scheduled to run weekly on Thu @ 3AM when the computer is idle. However, it actually started when I jumped onto my computer a few minutes ago and opened IE. I have checked the logs, and none of my scheduled tasks have run this week. Last log before today is from last Sunday, when a task that was scheduled for Wed ran.

I have attached a screenshot that shows the scheduled options and when the actual operation ran a few minutes ago. I also attached the log if it helps.

This is frustrating because it seems that the backups occur when I am in the middle of doing something important on my computer (ie heavy use - def. not idle!) and the backup operation causes the computer to come to a halt due to hard drive use.

Steve,

I see you are using build 5519, might be worth upgrading to the latest build 5697.

Having said that, I think your problem could be a corrupted database, three ways around that.

1. Download the 'task zap' program, kill all the tasks and remake them.

2. Try editing each task, make a minor alteration, save it, then re-edit it back to what you want and save again.

3. Export your tasks, delete all the tasks in TI, close and restart TI, re-import your tasks.

The list is in order of the liklihood of the problem being solved.

It might also be worth unticking the 'run when PC next switched on ' option
