ATIH 2012 - can't backup to Seagate goflex NAS
Hi,
I've just upgraded from ATIH 2009 to 2012 and now I can't create any new backups which will reside on my Seagate Goflex NAS drive.
The NAS device can be seen through Windows (7 Home Premium) and you can browse to it as a backup destination but as soon as you try to carry out a backup you get 'Failed to check the existence of ...............' as it tries to use the NAS device.
I've also noticed that in the 'Browse for Destination' window, you can see the device both under the Network and under the NAS connections entries but you can't actually use them.
I've checked that my credentials for the NAS are set up correctly and they have tested and told me that the connection has been established but I still can't actually get the backup to work.
Stranger still is the fact that it does recognise existing backups on the NAS and allow you to rerun them but you can't make any setting changes to them - just get a file access error.
This worked fine in ATIH 2009 and not since I upgraded!
Any thoughts from anyone - it's a pretty useless lump of software if I can't sort this out.
Thanks
Dave.

Hello,
I have the same problem after updating True Image 2010 to version 2012. It´s also Seagate GoFlex Home NAS Drive in my Home-Network. After installation I was able to make one full backup to the nas. After this never again.
So I would be happy to geht a new build.
Thanks
Renate

Ditto for me too...
I also have the same problem after upgrading to True Image Home 2012. Also with a Seagate GoFlex Home NAS Drive on my home Network. Also, after installed I was able to make full backups of a couple of drives to the NAS, but then ATIH1012 has not been able to complete the differential backups, and gives several different errors in logs. (A few examples copied below. If you want me to send you the logs, PM me...)
I also would be happy to get a new build to resolve issues with ATIH2012 and my Seagate GoFlex Home and other NAS drives (which I haven't tried yet...)
Please contact me directly via PM with suggestions, new build and or more info.
Thanks,
Ken
Here are some recent errors:
X - The quotas are violated.
Event code: 0x00040003+0x0000FFF0+0x80070040
X - Error occurred while writing the file.
Event code: 0x00040003+0x0000FFF0+0x80070040
X - The initial full backup version is not accessible at the moment. (even though the drive is available on my network and as mapped drive on PC)
X - Terminated by user. (repeated several times, but I have NOT terminated any of the backups! Usually seen at the end after several of the above are repeated in an backup event log...)

I have just installed a 3TB Goflex Home and TIH 2012 will no longer run while that drive is on. I am running Win 7 64x on a HP machine with an i7 processor.
Prior to installation of the Goflex Home, TIH ran fine

I have just purchased ATIH 2013. I have a 2TB GoFlex Home connected to my router.
I was able to make an initial backup and then 1 incremental backup - since then repeated failure.
I can see the backup files using File Explorer and I can even see them if I use the 'Browse for Backup' tab within ATIH!
Each time I test the connection it fails - very frustrating!!
I am running Win7 64 bit on my PC.

When using ATI with a network drive, use a UNC path to your NAS device for a backup destination, not a typical friendly "mapped" drive. e.g.
\\192.168.2.25\My Backups\
It should also be possible to use a UNC path that includes server name rather than IP, such as
\\server1\My Backups\
ATI will not automatically detect a NAS drive. Once you start typing the destination path (click "Browse", type in the "File name" field), you will be prompted for a username and password. You must use enter the username and password that has permissions to access the NAS share you are saving to.
Many users have had issues with NAS, not because of Acronis but because the router gets overloaded with data throughput and cannot keep a consistent enough connection with the NAS for True Image to image or restore.
