ATIH2010 causes conflict with Norton 360v3 - BSOD on Vista Ultimate...

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone. I'm new to Acronis and to this forum, seeking some advice.

A few days ago I purchased ATIH 2010.

After installing it (Vista Ultimate SP2, 2.4GHz Quadcore), I started to get BSODs after a random period. The errors reported were 0x050 and 0x07E, and pointed towards Symefa.sys.

Symefa.sys is a file that comes with Norton 360 v3. I am running this since quite a while without any problems. I upgraded to the last version (3.4.2.11) with the adequate norton procedure.

Then I found on the Norton forums a hint towards a conflict with ATIH. I then disabled the 2 Acronis services, rebooted, and since then I'm fine.

So here's the questions: does anyone have an info about such a conflict? Is Acronis aware of this? What is the conequence of leaving the 2 acronis services disabled?

Thanks for any hint!

Hello Jean-Paul Adans,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

No, we haven't faced such compatibility issues. Thank you very much for reporting this to us. Please let us investigate the issue and clarify the following:

-Which services have you disabled?

-What is the name of file for Acronis True Image Home 2010 installer?

Also, please make a digital photo of BSOD contents and attach it to your answer in this thread.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.
