ATIH2012 1st Attempt Failed

On 29/12/2011 I purchased this product, downloaded , installed ok.When I started it to commence its 1st backup, it showed 64gb to back up in about 7 hours.
After about 30 mins the computer was frozen, requiring removal of battery and a restart. When the laptop restarted , it showed the Killer Network card was disabled, Kaspersky Internet Security installation was corrupted. I reinstalled the drivers for the network card , which then required a reboot.On reboot the laptop started a chdsk and fixed errors on one of the drives.I then completed a repair of Kaspersky.
I then clicked on the Acronis shortcut , a pop up said " ATIH 2012 not installed".
I then downloaded the ATIH 2012 removal tool and ran it.
Should I just give up on this product or any tips as to what the problem may be?
I am reluctant to reinstall Acronis and have to go through the same process.
I have read here that refunds are not generally given away too freely !
