auto validation fails -solved

I use true image 2011(ver. 6857) on a laptop. I don't have the usb drive plugged in unless I am backing up or recoverying. I usually boot off the rescue disk and then backup or recover.

Recently I have been getting error messages when I reboot,not after running acronis but days later, that a validation failed. Of course that's because there are no drives with backups plugged in.

How do I stop what seems to be an automatic validation task?
