Automatically Deleting the previous backup

Thread needs solution

Using TI 2013 Plus:

I have it set up to do 6 incremental backups before doing a new full backup. How do I make sure it deletes the previous backups from the last week?

Thanks,

To accomplish your request, create a new task as per the GH12 example and set the option "Store no more than 1 recent version chain."
Automatic deletion of the oldest chain (7 files- oldest Full with the 6 inc) ) will occur immediately AFTER the creating of the next FULL Backup.
So for a short time, you need enough storage space for the oldest chain (7 files) plus room for the replacement/next full before the deletion occurs.
If you do NOT have the required storage space, you will need to delete the chain manually before the next full can succeed,
as the program cannot be programmed to perform the deletion first before the next full occurs.

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains. The 6-4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.
