Backing up 3 drives with Windows on Each

Thread needs solution

Hi, I have 3 drives all with Windows, 1x8 and 2x7, in Multiboot . Which is the best way to backup the entire setup in case of Motherboard failure.
Do I need the Premium version and will it create a backup of the boot loader?

thanks

John,
You could create a single backup of your 3 Windows drive by selecting each of these when configuring the disk backup process but this would limit the flexibility that you may need in the future, should one of your drives fail, rather than suffering a motherboard failure.

My personal preference would be to create a separate backup image of each individual Windows drive, including the hidden System partition that comes with Windows 7 or 8 (unless your install put this in the primary Windows partition).

The benefits of having separate images are in being able to update these as changes occur rather than having to keep doing all 3 drives together.

Over the years, I have had many more drive failures than I have had motherboards fail, and with Windows, if you replace the motherboard you may have other licensing issues due to the change of hardware components, i.e. new CPU as well as the motherboard etc - unless you have the very expensive full retail version of Windows rather than the more common OEM versions.
