Event Viewer shows this, Application Error Event ID 1000:

Faulting application TrueImageHomeService.exe, version 14.0.0.6696, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.3520, fault address 0x00010f1e.

Well, the app crashed. I would think about stuff like:
- if you start the backup manually, does it complete?

if yes
- did you disable any service recently?

if no
- do a repair install of ATI. Relaunch the installer and choose repair

Was the backup to an external disk? If yes, Was it properly accepted by Windows and was it properly identified as Drive F ?

Yes, as a matter of fact it backed up about 92GB (out of 150GB) before the app seemed to crash. I restarted the backup manually and it completed without issue.

Nothing changed since the last successful backup. It's an XP box that just sits there and shares files, so it's a very stable environment.

Kremlar,
Not sure of a specific solution. Sometimes issues involving external drives can be corrected by assigning a specific drive letter(higher up ;the letter chain) to the external and starting over with a new task with the correct pointer.
