Backup file not on drive in disc wizard recovery attempt

Thread needs solution

I'm unable to recover a backup file which is on my external drive. The file is there because I see it in windows file explorer. But when I boot on the seagate disc wizard, the drive shows nothing when I select it to recover the file. I noticed there are errors when disc wizard is loading. The screen goes so fast I can't get to read everything on it, but I caught the following errors: error unsupported sector 4096 on/dev/sdc error unsupported sector 4096 on/dev/sde When I select recovery in disc wizard, and I browse for what I want to recover, I see my internal drives with their contents, but two external drives (one with the backup file) don't show anything. Does anyone have any suggestion?

William, welcome to these public User Forums.

What actual format are your external drives using here and what size are they?

How are you attempting the recovery here?  Are you starting from within Windows or are you booting from the bootable rescue media created from your Seagate DiscWizard application?

If booting from the media, which boot mode are you using, is this Legacy or UEFI, and how does your Windows OS boot (Legacy or UEFI)?  Are you using the same boot mode as Windows?
