Backup issues

Thread needs solution

I am about ready to throw Acronis out the Window. I set a date for a backup, Monday at 10 am, set it at single so it is overwritten each time but it never happens. I get a $%#% notification that my external hard drive is full. WHY IS IT NOT OVERWRITING THE ORIGINAL? Please help, otherwise I'm dumping Acronis.

Alan,

A little more information about your version of Acronis, your operating system, the hard drives, and types, you are backing up to, the size of the data your are backing up, etc., would be helpful if you are truly interested in any help from the people here.

Yes, please advise, amount of used space on each drive and capacity of target drive.

You need twice the space of the backup to allow for the operation -- because -- the backup file is created before any prior backup is deleted -- this ensures that your backups are all deleted in a situation where ATI tries to but can't successfully backup.

Now of that's not an issue for you. Can you manually do a a backup?

If you get the same error message, can you move the existing backup to another location and then successfully manually backup?
