Backup strategy for Laptop with SSD?

Thread needs solution

I am planning to buy a laptop with an SSD-drive and to use ATI Home 2011 for image backups. What advice would you give me as for backup strategy?

I have the idea that it might be good to make a second partition for data and then move all user folders to this partition so that I will have My documents folder, My Music folder, etc on the D-partition and only have Windows 7 and software on the C-drive???

Then I thought I would make another folder on D with backup images of the entire C-drive. I could then, when connected to our LAN, backup the entire D-drive, including the folder with images, to a NAS-device.

Does this sound good, or is there an even better way to protect a laptop with an SSD-drive?

I guess your SSD is not that big.

Don't bother with setting a partition on you SSD for your content or for your backup. I would get a convenient big USB disk for the backups.

I would create a weekly backup to that USB disk or a network disk of your entire disk (all partitions). Make a weekly incremental backup that creates a full every 3 incrementals.

If you have a lot of changes, you can make this backup daily, with a full every 6 incrementals, for example.
