Backup to Synology DiskStation, File I/O Error, Access Denied

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to backup my pc to a Synology DiskStation DS-210J with the following configuration:

PC: Windows 7 Proff.
Acronis True Image Home 2010
Synology DiskStation DS-210J DMS 3.0

When I start the backup task, I get after a few seconds the following error: "File I/O error", "Access denied".

I have set down the HDD writing speed to <80% as recommended, without any help.

I HAVE set up the credentials for the NAS en the backup task. The Username /Password for the pc and the share (\\192.168.0.2\backups) are the same.

I can map the share and write to it without any problems.

What can I do?

Hello Peer,

Thank you for posting and welcome to our forum. I will definitely assist you.

This is a Synology DSM 3.0 issue, you can contact Synology support to receive a hotfix. Please check this article for additional information.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Have the same issue with DSM 4.1. But now it sometimes work and sometimes not.

Synology support states support for Acronis 2012 & windows 7 with DSM 3.2-1922. Have to conclude that 4.1 would be supported as well, but best to contact them for an answer.
