Backups after POST with True Image 2010

Thread needs solution

When I start True Image with F11 after the POST, if I perform a backup, instead of C, F, G and H, the disk partitions are seen as C, D, E, F. This problem could interfere with a future restoring?

Thanks in advance.

No, the only consequence of the lettering is that it can cause you some confusion on restoration i.e. you have to take care that you are restoring FROM the partition you want TO the actual hard drive partition you're restoring to. Never depend on C, D etc but instead look at the actual partition qualities.

You should in fact do a Trial Run of your backup-and-restore process to make sure it meets your expectations. At least, make a backup and then start a restore process to see what it looks like, if not actually doing a COMMIT to performing the restore.

Before you do this, assign each partition a unique, recognizable name. That will allow you to correctly identify each partition in the recovery environment even though they will have different drive letters.

Sorry, one last question: is it possible to restore this backup into a new blank disk? I must first create four partitions, or True Image creates them during restore?

Yes, you may restore to a blank disk. No, don't create partitions first, as the restore will wipe out anything on the disk anyway. This assumes that you created and are restoring a full disk mode backup.
