Backups are failing...

Thread needs solution

Hi There,

I have a backup drive that appear to be fine. I can access under Windows 7 and it mounts and reads.

Acronis begins a backup - It indicates that it is calculating but never backs up. My last backup was Sept 18.

I then get a message that says

ERROR occured while creating the file F:\Mybackups\etc\...\name_b1_s8_v1.tib

Is there a tool to check a backups' integrity or is there a proceed to have Acronis skip the last incremented backup ...

I'd hate to just start a brand new backup from scratch however I know that would probably work.

This issue occurred once before a few weeks ago... Same Drive...  I should not have to create a new backup so frequently.

Run chkdsk /r on each partition of the internal drive, and on the external HD. If there are hidden partitions, assign letters to them so you can chkdsk.
Also run a drive checking utility from the drive manufacturer, as those sometimes catch errors missed by chkdsk.

Don't connect via a hub, a port in a monitor, a USB extension cord, etc. Connect the external drive directly to a USB port on the rear of the computer case.

I see that this is slice 8 where it is failing, is the rest of the archive still intact?
