Backups to NAS fail

Thread needs solution

I'm having on-going difficulties doing backups to a Galaxy MGB-Quadro-Pro. Backups will start, but then give an error message stating that there was an error writing to the device. I have searched the forum, and have found a few related messages. I have tried the work-arounds, renaming the destination device with its network name (instead of network drive ID) and with the IP address - these don't fix the problem.

The problem certainly seems to be related to a network time-out. Why isn't there a method to adjust the network time-out default? The backups fail even during periods of low network activity.

All devices are connected via 100 Mbps Ethernet connections.

Hello Jim,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

Can you please clarify the exact title of the program? First of all please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products.

Make sure the user account on the NAS, under which you are trying to backup to it, belongs to the Administrator group. The Administrator group should also belong to READ/WRITE group. Set backup archive splitting to 2 Gb:

1. Click "Tools" and select "Options";

2. Click "Archive splitting" and set the size to 2 GB.
