Backupshare connection issue - access denied without any reason

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I try to backup my Windows 7 box to my Server 2008 share. Unfortunately sometimes I am not able to access my backup share. Sometimes (!!) ,when I try to setup a new backup, Acronis asks me for username and password (why? The backup share is open for ALL users r/w - ntfs permissions are correct - and the share is allready mounted to a driveletter, that is working fine!). Every user / password were rejected - and all (!! not only the backupshare) on my windows 7 are marked with a red x. When I try to access the shares again within windows explorer - evrything is fine. If I try to access it within Acronis - nothing works. Sometimes a reboot helps - sometimes not.
Can anybody help me ? No other errormessages appeared ... No other application has any issues with the shares!

regards

My config:

- Acronis True Image Home 11 - latest build 6868 -
- Windows 7

The issue you are facing seems common and there is no fix that solves it once and for all. For example, some users have seen their ATI leave an awful lot of connections open to the server and reach the max.

The latest build is already better but didn't address everything in this area, it seems.

You can try some adjustments.

If you have mapped drive to your share, disconnect it

Do you have homegroup turned on?

Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings
Choose Use user accounts and passwords to manage connections. See if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the fast answer ...
Is there any command to the see actual connections between the server and the client?
I've noticed, that sometimes some users can connect with acronis, another user had access denied. Is the limitation of connections based per user?

You might be able to see that by running the netstat -b command from a command prompt...
