Baffled with Backup Alert - (Recovery Message)
I am set to 1 hour backup check
An applet alert has begun to appear with the following message...
...............................................
Operation Paused / Specify location of the volume/ My_partitions1.tib
If you don't make a decision , the operation will fail in 10 minutes
C:\Program Files (86)\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageLaunch/message
.................................................
When I click for more info from it, I am asked to verify the certificate.
I validate it. Then I am switched to an open screen listing all the partitions contents of Acronis.
I am now not sure if Acronis is performing the backup check correctly / hourly
When I zap the message.... I almost immediately get another alert to say the backup check has completed successfully... but there is no time lapse nor signs of the LaCie external hard drive kicking-in.
Also worryingly, when I try to shut down the computer, The backup freezes in a loop of :
'Operation in progress, the computer will shut down when completed'... but it never does and I have to crash it to completely shut it down?
.....................................................
My Computer is:
HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
....................................................
I would be very grateful if anyone can clarify what this means
Many thanks

Rod,
The message indicates that ATI has lost track of a file. This file seems to be a new full backup.
Are you doing a disk and partition backup every hour? Or are you validating the backup every hour?
Can you describe the backup settings your are using or post a screen shot of the backup list and the specific backup settings in ATI?
To eliminate the Operations in progress message make sure:
- none of your backups are set to run on the shutdown event (this is an option to schedule them),
- no backup or validation is running when you shutdown the computer,
For each backup, clicking on edit settings,
- click on the schedule, this wil open the scheduler window. Unfold the advanced settings, uncheck all boxes there,
- click on edit backup options, go to the advanced tab, unfold validation, click on the schedule there and to the same as above.

Thanks Pat,
As a novice to this software, I am just coming to terms with it.
Your advice actually prompted me to find where the help tools could be found... and the settings access from within the programme.
I have taken aboard what you have suggested and am absorbing a bunch more from the help files - and will be having a go at sorting my settings.
I will feed back in due course.
Thank you muchly for your assistance.

Yeah... This kind of software requires some study time. If you are up for it, check indeed Grover's guides. A mine of useful information.
