Boot Disc and Screen Display problems
I have had this problem on several computers.
When I boot up on with the latest version of Acronis True Image Boot Disc, the screen is not completely readable or entirely missing.
Different manufacturers (Paragon, Aeusus) allow you to select a resolution before entering
the boot screen because not all monitors are the same. Is there anything that can be done about this? This is completely unacceptable, and is one of the contributing reasons that Acronis keeps getting terrible reviews. (check out Amazon, PC Mag)
I don't think that we should have to keep downloading seperate software or Bart to remedy
such problems after forking over $50.
Thank you

There are no "satisfied" results for this problem on the old forum.
I'm disgusted with this and I'm going to on Leo Laport's nationally syndicated radio show and have him actively dis wade people from paying for this product and have him Twitter about this.

This isn't that old.

Hello all,
We are really sorry foe the delay with the response.
Let me assist you with the issue.
Most probably, the standard bootable media didn't recognized your video adapter properly and this fact caused the issue you have.
If you're using Acronis True Image Home versions 2009 or 2010 please find the workaround to the issue below:
- Download ISO image of Acronis Bootable Media from your account at the Acronis website. You will need to log in your account and underRegistered Products & Support select Bootable Media. See Downloading an Installation File of Acronis Software;
- Burn the downloaded ISO image to a CD/DVD. See Burning an ISO Image. Thus, you will have Acronis Bootable Media;
- Boot from the created Acronis Bootable Media and issue the following command:
kernel.dat initrd=ramdisk.dat vga=[VALUE] quiet
where [VALUE] is a code for screen resolution and color quality:
Screen Resolution 640x480 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024 Color Quality 256 0x301 0x303 0x305 0x307 32k 0x310 0x313 0x316 0x319 64k 0x311 0x314 0x317 0x31A 16M 0x312 0x315 0x318 0x31B Command value Example
Issuing the command will force the selected screen resolution and color quality.
If you're using any other versions of True Image software, please send me a Private Message and I'll provide you with a special version of bootable media (in ISO format).
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.

Hi support
I have purchased new Acronis True Image Home versions 2010 to support my new Windows 7 PC, I run standard bootable media and safe boot media disk both show very low quality video display, hard to read on Dell Latitude D400. Works fine on Latitidue C640.
I tried kernel.dat initrd=ramdisk.dat vga=[0x314] quiet after press F11 on boot up. Still same problem.
I tested the same machine with Acronis True Image versions 09 on Windows XP PC, it works fine. I cannot restore with ATI 09 on Windows 7 as it is not supported.
I will try Acronis True Image Home versions 2010 boot media on brand new Dell Inspirion mini 10 tomorrow using Windows 7.

There is an alternate Bootable media available from your registration account. It is an iso file which has to be burnt to CD as an image but it does have alternate drivers. If still unsuccessful, either enter a support ticket or send support a private message with your hardware configuration and ask for an alternate bootable CD.
