Boot disk- no mouse or keyboard

Thread needs solution

I downloaded the trial version of 2012 Home, installed it and created a boot disk and when I boot using it I get no mouse or keyboard function at the screen where you choose Windows or Acronis.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit a USB mouse and a PS/2 keyboard. I tried a PS/2 mouse and that wouldn't work either. Do I need to change a bios setting or something.

Also, when the 2012 trial installed itself it took the liberty of deleting 2010, how do I get that back if I don't stick with 2012?

Does your 2010 boot disk work correctly on this system?

ATIH 2010 is removed during the installation of 2012. You would have to un-install 2012, and then re-install 2010 from the installation disk or downloaded installation file using your 2010 serial number.

From page 16 of the ATIH 2012 Update 2 users guide.
Upgrading from old versions of Acronis True Image Home
If you already have Acronis True Image Home installed, the new version will simply update it; there is no need to remove the old version and reinstall the software.
Please keep in mind that the backups created by the later program version may be incompatible with the previous program versions. Therefore if you roll back Acronis True Image Home 2012 to an older version, you likely will have to re-create the backups using the older version. We strongly recommend that you create new bootable media after each Acronis True Image Home upgrade

Altough this is indeed in the manual, it would be nice to have some notification about this during the install.

No, the 2010 boot disk doesn't work with my mouse or keyboard either. Should have tried it before I needed it.

Take a look at your BIOS settings, see if you have Legacy USB support. If it is turned on, turn it off, or reverse those instructions. Also look at your PS/2 mouse settings, if they can be changed, change the settings from auto to enabled if possible.

That didn't work. I had the same problem several years ago with a completely different system and Acronis 9 or 10, Acronis support had to send me an ISO for a boot disk that would work with that system. Since the mouse and keyboard use the standard MS drivers I just can't see them not working with a boot disk created on this system.

Don't have for that kind of crap. I used NTI Echo to go back to a clone I had made about a month ago after backing up my important files.

I will be looking for another backup program
