Boot issues after TI file recover
I use True Image in the following way and have trouble getting the 'newly' imaged drives to boot:
1. Removable C boot drives with Win 7 and encrypted with TrueCrypt (most data on separate physical D and E drives).
2. True Image CD or USB stick to create image.
3. After image created, removable C boot drive swapped with a drive that had been used previously (every few months, full image drives swapped out...'older' drives kept on shelf for immediate use of some upgrade or virus messes up my system).
4. After Image installed, I almost always have trouble with booting...seems the system does not see the boot loader or something.
5. I use Partition Wizard first to recreate MBR, usually does not work.
6. Sometimes, use Partition Wizard to remove partitions from 'old' drive, then reinstall the image...this seems to work the best, but is not consistent.
7. So how do I reliably reinstall the image so the PC boots the first time?
