bootable test

Thread needs solution

This has probably been asked millions of times but I'm no expert.I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium.I created a bootable by burning the ISO to a disk.I shut down my computer, inserted the disk and it immediately stated it was starting the Acronis Loader or something to that effect. Then it looked like it was operating in safe mode,True Image then appeared and asked me if I wanted to recover.I then exited and booted into Windows. My question- is this what should happen to verify the bootable is capable of performing a recovery or is it I am missing something? Thanks very much.

You are close to have verified your CD. You have seen the computer boot on the CD, and you were able to launch ATI on the CD (you are right it looks like safe mode, but it is really something different: a Linux version running before Windows start).
When it ask you to recover, try to follow the wizard to familiarize with it. You will see the drive letters are not the same as in Windows. Find your backup, start the recovery wizard, in the what to recover choose the entire disk, just don't click proceed at the end, cancel. Then, choose to recover only selected files and folders and restore a couple of non-important files to your actual disk.
If this works, you are in good shape to recover your computer in case of failure.

Check the True Image Home 2011 Lite Guide (see link on the left) to see pictures of what the screens look like.
