BSOD caused by ntkrpamp.exe

When trying to restore a backup, my computer gets a BSOD. After analyzing the Full dump, it shows ntkrpamp.exe as causing the crash.

Details:
Windows XP SP3
Core 2 Duo
2 GB RAM

This happened with the free trial that I downloaded before buying the full version. Since then, I have reformatted and reinstalled XP. I get the same error. It seems like it happens most often when the program searches for possible destinations for the restore.

If I use msconfig to start my computer using selective startup and uncheck "Load System Services" and "Load Startup Items" I am not able to re-create the blue screen.

I also experience the BSOD sometimes when creating a backup.

I have attached a mini-dump that is created when it crashes. If needed, I can re-create the crash and provide the full dump as well.
