Can BOOT media validate a tib?
I was wondering if an image can be validated with the Rescue Media?

OK, I wondered as there does not seem to be that GEAR icon.

I haven't done it in a while, and not at all in the 2014 version. It may be a right-click.

Well, I looked at the documentation and it implies that in 2014 you CAN'T! It says that to Validate a backup, click the gear icon. It says in the rescue CD to try to restore a file or two!

Looks like this is an omission in the User Guide, I'll bring it to the attention of Acronis.
OK, it is a bit of a rigamarole.
From the recovery CD.
1. Select recover.
2. Click on Refresh Backups.
Once the backups have been found and listed, you can then
3. Right click on selected archive and there will then be an option to validate.
**edit***
I've just found an easier way, to the left of the search panel is a chevron icon (>>), click this and you get the following options.
1. Manage ASZ.
2. Validate.
3. Remove.

I always get tripped-up by this. Don't know why Acronis has "hidden" this feature like they have i.e. the standard size window doesn't permit one to easily see these other options.

Thank you!
Why do they change things that do not need changing?
I am so old I remember CP/M! PIP was the way you moved and copied files, etc. It was a mess! So, someone wrote SWEEP. It was great, until, several releases later, the added so much that it was almost easier to use PIP again!
As I said, I am old, and used this on a CP/M equiped Apple ][+ (that I still have)!

Hello Everyone,
thank you for your postings.
Actually, there is an instruction in web help on how to validate backups while working from bootable media.
But I forwarded your feedback to our technical writers and we will look for a way to improve documentation structure in order to avoid such confusions in the future.
Thank you for your understanding!
Let me know, if you have any additional questions.
Best regards
