Can I delete a single chain (a full and 3 diff)?

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I have configure True Image to do a full backup followed by 3 diff backup; after 2 chain my 2 TB HD is full. How can I configure Acronis to delete the oldest chain to free space for the new?
Now in its third chain Acronis report "Disk full"
Can I delete manually a chain (Full+ 3 inc)?
Many thanks in advance,
Edoardo

You can manually delete a couple of ways if using 2014 -- if using 2015, fugettabowtit.

You should be able to set a space limit n the setup for the backup. ATI should then try to delete a backup to make room for a new one. But it will make the new one first -- if it didn't you could end up with no backups just because of some prob while making a new one -- that would be dismal indeed.

If there isn't enough space for ati to make a new backup before checking to see if space limitations or file number limitations are met, then you need to lower the limits.

Now, to delete, do this: Open ATI. On the task in question, click on the target directory shown on the task in the main window that lists all your tasks. It should take to the directory just like explorer. Then delete the set you don't want. now, back in ati, on the task click on recover, when it tells you it can't find that backup set, tell it to ignore; that should update the ATI database. This should work in ati2014 but not ati2015. There are other ways but this is the least destructive and least problematic method I've used with ati2014.
