Can I install, uninstall, reinstall..
The Acronis Licensing terms seem to allow for one installation on one machine only. I have several machines that, once set up, don't often require imaging. I have 2 licensed copies of TI 2009, only one of which I need to be on my production machine at all times. I don't see why I couldn't use the additional copy on the multiple machines that rarely need imaging, as long as it is uninstalled from the previous machine and is only on one machine at a time. Does anyone else?
Thanks.

I'm not sure how you drew that conclusion, since my post doesn't mention or even imply this. The reality is that I've had the 2nd copy for several months now, and it sits on one of my backup servers that has been imaged exactly once. The other machines I refer to and am asking about are 'workhorse' machines. Generally, these machines get set up, would be imaged once or twice and that's it. They don't need further imaging because the configuration doesn't really change.

You wouldn't even be asking the question if you weren't planning on using one copy on multiple computers. For example, you're not asking if you install TI on a computer now and the computer dies can you install it on the replacement. You're asking: "I don't see why I couldn't use the additional copy on the multiple machines that rarely need imaging..."
As far as I know, the license is for one computer. It can be moved to another computer under certain circumstances (like the computer died or is being retired). Remember, TI doesn't need to be installed to be used. A lot of people use TI just from the CD.
I can certainly understand your situation. If you want an official answer you will need to contact Acronis directly (sales or support) and ask them. You could also try sending a PM to an Acronis Moderator. I suspect that you would need a license for each computer on that is currently "active" that you plan to use with TI (even if just once or twice).

Thanks for taking the time to respond. This may all be moot if 2011 is not much improved over 2010. Of course, your right about TI not having to be installed, which may be the most practical solution. And I could always buy another ebay copy or two of ATIH 2009 for next to nothing, which may resolve the issue and also buy time for Acronis to release a version that I'll actually keep.
