Cannot backup to a networked drive in TIH 2011

Thread needs solution

I have been using TIH 2010 for about a year with the backup being created on a Western Digital Share Space RAID 5 network drive formatted as NTFS. Backups were reliably created and files could be restored.

Now I was tempted by the emails about TIH 2011 and installed the update, I also acquired the Plus Pack but it is not currently installed. After a successful installation I let the computer run over night, and I find that the three backups had all failed by not being able to access the networked drive.

Reading the TIH 2011 User Manual I find that TIH 2011 no longer supports backups to networked drives! Wow! This was not expecxted. Will the Plus pack resolve this problem when I install it?

Why has Acronis taked this retrograde step without warning users more forcefully that the new version has a lesser capability?

Is there a workaround? I got the WF ShareSpace as the drive for backups with the added reliability of RAID 5 reliability.

From an almost random place in UG **- "...You can save full, incremental and differential backup versions to different places including a network share, CD/DVD, USB stick,...."
And from the very beginning -
1.1.5.4 Supported storage media
*Hard disk drives
*Networked storage devices
...
"
**- 3.8 Backup to various places

You may need to set credentials and/or specify the destination using UNC path (not mapped drive letter)

Many thanks. based on your reply and others in the forum, I found the solution by reselecting the mapped drive (for the networked WDShareSpace) and the UNC path was correctly shown. I used cmd Net use to verify the UNC path for the networked WDShareSpace. TIH 2011 then proceeded to correctly make a backup.
Thanks for your help.
