CANNOT CLONE...

Thread needs solution

Greetings,

I have an ASPIRE T3-710 with Windows-10 (64 bit), and a 2TB HDD.

After adding a 250GB SSD on to the motherboard, I initialized it where the system sees it with no issues. However, after installing my old True Image 2013 to clone the HDD on to the SSD, I am not able to see the BIOS screen to boot from DVD. I am apparently not able to see the BIOS screen because I had removed the original Intel Display Adapter from the device manager and uninstalled its driver a while back so I can install a better NVIDIA graphics card and its driver. Is there a way to get around this so I can see the BIOS screen without having to reset the computer to factory default? By the way, I tried to go to the BIOS screen both by hitting F12 upon restart and also by going through settings>update>recovery>advance startup>restart... with the same blank screen.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to these user forums.

Some points to highlight first:

ATIH 2013 is not supported to be used running in Windows 10.  Only the 2015 or later versions are supported.
See KB document: 56196: Acronis Products: Windows 10 Support

Cloning should never be started from within Windows, despite the fact that Acronis allow this to be chosen.

Please create your Acronis bootable Rescue Media on CD or USB stick and use this to boot your system and then perform the cloning operation.  This is completely outside of Windows and does not rely on any drivers being installed in Windows for your display adapter etc.

See KB document: 34881: True Image 2013 by Acronis: Cloning Basic Disks where it states: It is recommended to clone the disks from Acronis Bootable Media - please follow the steps shown in this document in the section: Cloning from Acronis Bootable Media

Note: the key issue that you may face is that the Acronis Rescue Media may not have the device drivers to support the hardware in your Windows 10 computer system.  The media should be booted using the same method as your Windows OS, i.e. if Windows boots using EFI then you should boot the media in the same way, and this will probably require disabling Secure Boot in BIOS if this is enabled.

Thank you for all the useful info. I'll obtain the latest version and attempt cloning that way. I'll keep this forum posted on how it goes. Cheers!
