Cannot Clone, create bootable media or use Universal Restore

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis Updated to Acronis 12 and Acronis 2012 Plus Pack. I am operating at the latest updated versions. I am runnong XP on a HP Pavillion a1020n with 1.5 GB of RAM. I have successfully backed up using Acronis file and disk capabilities but I cannot Clone disk (Acronis Loader starts up after the mandatory boot but nothing happens), create bootable media or use Universal Restore (capability grayed out). When trying to create bootable media got error message to reinstall Acronis (so I am assuming that is the cause of my other two problems also) . This looks like a fairly easy activity Remove Acronis components (using Add Remove Programs) and reinstall Acronis. The question is I bought Acronic Version 9 at a store and have the media but have updated / purshased the upgrades and Plus product over the internet. Can I remove the progams and just use my Acronis Login Page to download the most recent versions of the both Acronis Home 2012 and Acronis 2012 Plus Pack.

Thanks Tom Nash

That's just a bit confusing as I read it. Yes, if you've purchased and registered the licenses for TIH 2012 and Plus Pack, you can download their latest (build 6131) releases from your online account page. But you also say that you are already operating with the latest updated versions and ask if you can remove them using Add/Remove Programs. The answer to that is also affirmative, but with some qualifications. That removal method will leave in place at least some of the DiskDrive and Volume device class filter services in your system registry and their drivers in your \Windows\System32\Drivers folder. Depending on what you intend to do next, those "leftovers" may or may not be a problem.

Thanks for the quick response. I am confused also because as you noted I have the most recent version, I just tried Media Builde again and got the same message which is

"Cannot load required components. Please reinstall Acronis Image Home (0x18000b) ti_boot.so (0x18000b)

ti_boot.so (0x18000b) tage-0x9078F2483C89C393"

I was also concened about "leftovers". I intend yo use Revo Uninstaller (Deep clean Function) to hopefully take care of this issue.

Thanks again Tom Nash

Okay, Tom, no problem. Suggest that you might first want to try a repair install. (Run the installer package again as administrator and select the repair option.) If that succeeds it could save you some time and effort. If it doesn't, you're in no worse circumstances.
