Cannot get auto backup to work ATI 2015

Thread needs solution

Just upgraded from ATI2011. I can do a manual back of disks & partitions and I can do a good restore, but scheduled backups will not work. I have tried ALL combos of wake from sleep, do not sleep when backup is running and start when missed and nothing works. Each time I try something different I delete all existing backups and setup a new task from scratch and set as default and save.

Any way to just add a "Backup" icon to the desktop and do manual backups?

Yes, you can run your TrueImage backups from your desktop.

Create a desktop shortcut and paste the contents of the example command below into the shortcut command window except use your script id number from your backup task. This command is all on only one line.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageLauncher.exe" /script:9D66B7ED-3B8D-4091-9DDC-3FC219A37711

Your backup task script ID (probably recongnizable base on time/date) is found in

SCRIPTS FOLDER LOCATED AT:C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts\

Watch carefully the quotation marks/location in the commad example above. THE GH64 is an example of how to creaete a non-scheduled task for use in the shortcut.

Perhaps your overall backup problem not running relates to the program needing a clean install.

My suggestion is to download the TI Cleanup utility (my signature link 4) and run the utility noting the text insructions listed in the utility where registry edits needed. After the cleanup, then do the install again and create fresh backup tasks.

Here are some examples of how to set up some of your backup schemes. Everything in 2015 is different as compared to 2011.

------------------------------------------------

Depending upon the type of backup scheme you wish to create, here is an example of each type. These can be set up for Disk image, or Partiton, or Files-folders backups. These example show how to set up automatic cleanup so the program will do the deletion after it reaches your set goal of how many chains to retain.

Editing an existing task is not recommended. Rarely does an edited task perform to user expectations. It is usually better to start with a new task using a new non-identical task name and point to a new storage sub-folder so each task has it own storage folder/sub-folder. Old task can be stopped or deleted from the task listings.
